Downtown Tallahassee was the perfect backdrop for Colby & Allison. Their wedding day was full of sweet moments and fun vibes, from a hotel top-floor first look to the groom crowd-surfing during the reception. The city with all of its energy was a beautiful setting for a Tallahassee wedding video full of love, fun, and a wild-good time!
Why get married in Downtown Tallahassee?
THE VENUES! Colby & Allison chose two modern and unique downtown spaces: Hotel Indigo & The Edison Restaurant.
Hotel Indigo is located in the Collegetown area of Tallahassee, Florida. It sits directly on Gaines Street with direct views of Florida State University and Downtown Tallahassee. This boutique hotel served as the Getting Ready venue for the wedding day and OH MY WAS IT PERFECT! Allison and her bridesmaids got ready in the largest space the hotel offered, the top-floor Presidential Suite. This space had a kitchen and living area as well as a corner room with large windows that were perfect for the getting ready shots. Did we mention it’s also pet friendly?! A few floors down on the opposite side of the hotel, Colby and his groomsmen spiffied up in the other amazing space Hotel Indigo offered: the only room with a balcony! This room overlooked Gaines Street and the edge of the FSU campus so it served as a great space for the wedding party shots!
For the ceremony and reception, everyone traveled down the road to The Edison Restaurant. The Edison is located in Downtown Tallahassee. It’s situated on the outskirts of Cascades Park, looking over the waterfall, open-air amphitheater, and newly developed shopping and living areas. It has a great relaxed, industrial feel which helped carry over the city feel from getting ready into Colby & Allison’s ceremony and reception. Our time at The Edison was fantastic as their team truly cared for the full experience of Colby & Allison’s wedding day. From set up to cocktail hour to catering, The Edison helped in any way they could. They even shuffled us and Alicia (the photographer) around in their elevator to capture every detail of the wedding day!

The lively downtown areas also provide entertainment for your guests that want to experience Florida’s Capital City during their visit. With its location in Cascades Park, there is ample opportunity for a gorgeous golden hour couple session after your ceremony. The park has miles of sidewalks that wrap around the near buildings, rolling over the hills, and around the ponds.
